About Us

The South Yorkshire Transport Museum is a long-standing, non-profit organisation which relies on donations, entry fees, grant funding, sponsorships, vehicle hire income and the hard efforts of active volunteers to keep running.

A part of history is kept alive by its transport related exhibits - including the vehicles - where many of the latter have been painstakingly restored.

With over 50 historic vehicles and other exhibits occupying 24.000sq ft. in modern premises - rather different to the historic but unsuitable 1997-2007 site at Tinsley - we believe there is someting for everyone to enjoy.

Of course we also have our recently fully re-furbished cafe for when a break is needed on our 'Open Days' or when we have group or School visits.

On our 'Open Days' we offer free short trips on some of the historic buses.

The charity was founded in 1995 and began as the Sheffield Bus Museum Trust |Limited and has developed into an accredited Transport Museum - displaying bicycles, cars, lorries, motorcycles and much, much more.
