Part of Museum Collection

BWB 148H is believed to be the last survivor of 163 'Jumbo' (i.e. 33ft long) Atlanteans delivered to Sheffield between September 1968 and May 1970.  It entered service as fleet no. 1148 and was renumbered 748 in April 1970.  It retained that number on the formation of the South Yorkshire PTE in April 1974.

It was withdrawn from passenger service in Summer 1981 and passed to the SYPTE Training Centre at Meadowhall for apprentice training before conversion to a Roadshow and Promotional Bus (No. M6) by March 1983.

BWB 148H was acquired by Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council Amenities and Recreation Department in July 1989 for use as an Events Control Vehicle.  It was secured for preservation in summer 1996 and donated to the Museum in early 2007 for refitting as the SYTM Roadshow Bus.

No. 748 attends local events around South Yorkshire  to  promote the museum.
